The Résidence Richelieu - 1st floor (with elevator) - is an excellent starting point to explore by foot or bicycle all the places that make Paris so charming and magical. The building has kept its ancient look with his superb long entry and a spiral staircase. The beautiful high ceilings are also a remarkable nineteenth century relic which gives the studio brightness and charm. But still modern comfort modern is not therefore sacrified: you will enjoy the lift, very handy when you travel, an intercom and keypad for maximum security.

After have been called Triptyque, this club has took again its original name Social Club. This club becomes week after week the most trendy Parisian spot. Youth people gather in great numbers to listen to DJ's in vogue of the electronic scene. An anecdote: in the early 20th century it is at this place that was printed the famous "J'accuse" of Émile Zola.

Anecdote
In 1673, Molière was buried in the St. Joseph cemetery, 140 Montmartre Street, thanks to the special intervention of the King. Indeed, at that time the Church prohibited Christian burial to actors. In 1817, the remains of the playwright and theater actor were transferred to the Pere-Lachaise cemetery along with the ones of Jean de la Fontaine.
We stayed at La Résidence Richelieu for a week in early September 2009. The apartment was fantastic - clean with all the necessities. In particular, we really liked the large comfy bed and access to a phone with free long distance calling. For longer stays, there is a great laundromat just a couple blocks away.
In terms of location, you can't get much better. This apartment is in close proximity (walking distance) to all the main attractions as well as several metro stations. It is situated on a beautiful 'buzzing' street in the 2nd arrondisement providing lots of shopping and restaurant choices. Some nights of the week can be noisy because there are a couple of bars directly across the street. Closing the shutters on the windows went a long way to helping out though.
All in all we had a wonderful stay and can't wait to go back!
